Beam Caps

It really, really, really bugs me that some termite people will just lop off the end of a beam rather than repair it. Actually, it really, really, really bugs me that a home owner would let this happen. Luckily, the ends of the chopped beams were sound so it was simple enough to cap them. I feel much better now. After the house is painted this will be our dirty little secret.

Hi Matt, thanks for this great idea, we have a beam that has some dry rot and the inspector suggested we just chop it off, which sucks because it is such a gorgeous feature... I am totally going to steal your idea to save our beam!

After repairing your beams you should check out our web site sheetmetalcaps.com to find some metal caps to protect your beams from future damage.
